What a night!

Just came home from yesterday’s Bloody Beetroots show in Vienna, many thanks again to the Pola-Riot club for putting me on the guest list. Those two Italian spidermen really knew how to make people go crazy, their show was definitely one of the sickest things I’ve ever witnessed. I’ve seen Justice, Digitalism, Modeselektor and many more playing live, but none of them got even close to the Bloody Beetroots.
When they dropped their remix of Daft Punk‘s classic One More Time, the whole club was singing with them, right before they surprised everyone with their new unreleased track, Cornelius. I’ve never seen a DJ having so much fun spinning in my whole life, honestly.
After the show, I was lucky to get the chance to hang out some time with Tommy and Bob, talking about this and that. Bob and I were talking about some business related things, and Tommy gave me one of their shirts, which they signed afterwards. They really got to be some of the coolest people I’ve ever met, no snobs or something like that, just normal people who enjoy doing what they’re doing.
Thank you so much for an awesome night!

Mailbox Round Up II

It’s been nearly three weeks since the last Mailbox Round Up and my mailbox is already packed with interesting new stuff, so I guess it’s time for a huge Mailbox Round Up.

First, there’s Clockwork from Los Angeles, CA who already had the honour of being featured on Disco Demons. Now he came up with a new track, called Low Cut. Nice one!

Clockwork – Low Cut

The next one in row is Resterisk from Seattle, WA. His track Rock’n'Roll City immediately put a smile on my face, it’s definitely one of those good-mood-tracks… Also, I’m quite sure that they are sampling Justice‘s ‘Waters Of Nazareth drums’, take a close listen.

Resterisk – Rock’n'Roll City (Resterisk Mix)

From the home of innovative electronic dance music, Paris, France comes an interesting contribution: The Bloody Sisters exclusively sent over their new track Time Machine from the upcoming Time Machine EP.

The Bloody Sisters – Time Machine

Seems as if I can’t stop posting Rock remixes, Herr Kaschke from Germany provides us with a remix of Franz Ferdinand‘s Ulysses which he did for the remix contest on beatport.com. Also check out his Digitalism remix, a real killer.

Franz Ferdinand- Ulysses (Kaschkes 6501 Remix)

Digitalism – Taken Away (H3rR k45Chk3 74k3n 4w4y R3M1x)

And again a remix of an Indie Rock band: Personally, I don’t like Kings Of Leon, but since they’re quite popular right now, I thought some of you might enjoy that one by Tenzin:

Kings Of Leon – Sex On Fire (Tenzin Remix)

Finally, there are The Beatles. Figure delivers three remixes of popular Beatles songs. I don’t think I have to comment on these… just lean back and enjoy!

The Beatles – Lady Madonna (FIGURE Remix)

The Beatles – With A Little Help From My Friends (FIGURE Remix)

The Beatles – Eleanor Rigby (FIGURE Remix)

Please understand that I can not post up every track I recieve, that’d really break the mold.

Justice Unplugged!

Justice prove a certain sense of humor by putting the pictures of their show where the USB cable fell out of Gaspard‘s MPD24 in an album on their mySpace profile, titled Justice Unplugged;)

The Dirty Funker

A few weeks ago, I posted a remix of Guns N’ Roses‘ legendary Welcome To The Jungle. According to the hypem charts, a lot of people liked that remix, so I’m gonna post some more stuff by UK-based producer Dirty Funker.

Google Ads

As you may have noticed, I’ve started using Google AdSense on my blog. I never wanted my blog to end up as an ad-whore, as a lot of other blogs did, but I just want to see if I can collect enough money to pay for a custom domain. If you don’t like them… well, nobody forces you to click them.
Thank you for your understanding.

Justice don’t fake their shows

I guess most of you have already stumbled over the above photo, where Gaspard‘s MIDI-controller obviously isn’t plugged in. A lot of blogs have been spreading rumours about Justice faking their live shows. However, Xavier from Justice responded that the cable simply fell out, and Gaspard plugged it in right after. This statement is backed by a picture on which you can clearly see him messing around with the cable, plugging it in again:

Of course they could still be faking their shows, but I personally don’t think so, people just like to hate on bands / DJs that made it.

A Cross The Universe!

Finally, it has leaked!
Blogosphere premiere

Basically, this is a recording of a Justice show in high quality, including all the remixes they do live, fucking around with samples, filters, whatever. I guess everybody who has already had the pleasure of seeing them live knows what this means…
I’m sure that there will be some blogs that will post up the whole album, but I certainly won’t do that. Show some respect for the artists you like, head over to Amazon and buy the album in full quality, it’s definitely worth ~17 bucks.
Here’s a little foretaste to what you’re going to get for your money:

Justice – Genesis

Justice – Phantom Part 1.5

Justice – D.A.N.C.E. Part 2

Justice – We Are Your Friends (Reprise)

Justice – NY Excuse (Soulwax)

Justice – Final (Metallica)

edit:
don’t know why the tracks have weird names on hypem, guess i fucked up the id3-tags. see here.

Audiopad

I recently stumbled over an extremely innovative audio device which really impressed me. According to the official homepage, Audiopad can be described as an instrument that lets you create drum loops, pull sounds from a giant set of samles or apply digital processing, all at the same time on the same table.

Check the Audiopad homepage for videos and additional information.
