Say Whoa!

It’s already past 12 pm over here and I’m still in bed, trying to ignore the terrible noise in my ears. Unfortunately I still have no clue about what to wear for the evening’s costume party I plan to attend. I guess I’ll end up dressing up as a Lehmann Brother, boozed up with a rope around my neck… other suggestions welcome, if you have a buzzing idea please drop a comment!

Our friend DJ Minus from No Requests, Please just sent over his latest remix, make sure to get your hands on that one:

This Ain’t No Disco

I love Depeche Mode (well, who does not?), and I love Sikki Kidz from California for turning one of my favorite synth-pop tracks in a club-friendly remix. A welcome change after having spent the whole afternoon + evening learning binomial distribution, solids of revolution and properties of integration…

omg, maths.

Sorry kiddos, no more fresh tunes for today and tomorrow, got an important maths exam to pass on Friday. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t prefer learning stupid things that I’ll never be able to make use of in my entire life over blogging, but I really have to score a good grade on that one… keep your fingers crossed!

Post Pop Parade

I just received a promo of the latest release by Chris Price, titled Post Pop Parade. The album features mainly very fresh and catchy (pop?) songs, but I decided to pick two tracks that are a bit more chilled and athmospheric, especially And She Was. If you’re into synth-pop à la Depeche Mode, you should definitely check out that one…

Snow… at last!

It’s been snowing all day long and I’ve already cleared snow in my driveway twice, but I still love snow nevertheless. There’s nothing more beautiful on earth than a landscape covered in white.
Somehow this song reminds me of driving home through the snowy countryside at night. It’s so soft and beautifully gentle, I can nearly see snowflakes falling down slowly when I close my eyes… totally in love with it right now!

Ba Ba Ba-Da Ba Ba

I’ve been cursing Stockholm-based singer Miss Li and Swedish producer Owl Vision all day long for causing me one of the most persistant earworms I’ve had recently. These catchy vocals are highly addictive, listen at your own risk… you may quickly find yourself singing along to this amazing remix!

Dirty & Hard

Fresh talent Djedjotronic just finished a banging EP titled Hard & Dirty, featuring remixes by Italian electro genius Congorock and label head Boys Noize. Djedjotronic also hired his friend South African rapper Spoek to lay down lyrics for what he calls ‘electronic bitchy dance’. Don’t miss that one!

DJ LobsterDust

Just stumbled upon NY-based DJ and mash-up producer DJ Lobsterdust. In general, I wouldn’t consider myself to be a real mash-up fan, I guess I’m traumatized by all those bedroom-Ableton-producers mashing up hundreds of worn-out bloghouse tracks just to climb the hypem charts, but DJ Lobsterdust delivers high-quality mash-ups of popular songs… makes me even think of Girl Talk!
