New pics: Ed Bangers vs. Cinespace bouncers

Kavinsky choking a bouncer, Busy P and So-Me looking dangerous.

Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter, ready to rumble.

Again that bouncer in Kavinsky’s stranglehold. What a rockstar.

Soundclash Of The Titans

// Had to add a few lines: That Z-Trip set is 19 minutes 18 seconds of pure sex, including samples by the likes of Fugees, Johnny Cash, Led Zeppelin and Motörhead. Check it out or I’ll stop posting up music. By tomorrow morning, I expect at least a dozen of comments on this post, telling me how awesome DJ Z-Trip is!

=)

Dublin #3

Who says Paris is the home of electronic dance music? Lots of big tunes from Dublin, Ireland recently: Ghostscene DJs, Mark Lam, Schizofonics: “DJing together for over 10 years, the lads put their heads together in 2008 and began to make some tunes. It was the success of their first remix, Mustard Pimp’s Zombie’s Revenge that inspired them to keep the remixes coming (Schizofonics’ remix is featured on the official release of Zombie’s Revenge).” – I just love copy & paste.

DatA – Rapture (Schizofonics Remix)

Bonus: N.A.S.A. – Strange Enough (Designer Drugs Remix)

myMay

Short preview of what’s going on next month: May 11, written Matura (final exams at school, similar to British A-levels). In general, nothing to worry about, except for a 5-hour maths exam, including basically everything that we’ve learnt in 12 years.

The following week, I’ll be partying with friends in Vienna, Austria. May 16, Les Petits Pilous at Fluc. (Awesome location: Disused underground subway station. Gonna be fun.)

Goose – Everybody (Les Petits Pilous Remix)

I might then go see Mr. Oizo, Fake Blood, Boy 8-Bit and many more DJing in Graz, Austria, and I will sure as hell check out Busy P, autoKratz and the and only Kavinsky on May 21, back in Vienna.

Kavinsky – Testarossa (SebastiAn Remix)

Busy P – Rainbow Man

autoKratz – Stay The Same

Cheers!

Phoenix – Remix Contest

Remember when I was asking producers to remix Phoenix – 1901 a few weeks ago? I received dozens of remix which I’d love to share with you. For obvious reasons, I have to limit myself, so I picked 5 remixes which I liked best. There’s no certain ranking as they all feature highly individual aspects (alphabetical order!)

Completely reworked shuffled beat. Love the way the synths sound so amazingly retro, makes me think of Van Halen’s Jump. Awesome!
Phoenix – 1901 (Alan Wilkis)

Soft, chilled atmosphere. Nice and quiet in general. One of my faves.
Phoenix – 1901 (Build Remix)

As expected from Mr. Vega: Fast, dirty synths. Very disco-esque.
Phoenix – 1901 (Mr. Vega Remix)

Very interesting remix, messing around with the vocals. Funny loops.
Phoenix – 1901 (Remco Durez Remix)

Fast, filtered synths. Makes me think of a sunny day in Paris. Don’t miss that one.
Phoenix – 1901 (The Tremulance Remix)

JUSTICE + BOYS NOIZE + 50 CENT // Disco Demons back to teh interwebz

Hehe kiddos, after having survived more than 24hrs without internet at home, I’m back on line. Had to write an explanation to my provider, explaining that I can guarantee that my MacBook is certainly not infected with any virus or trojan malware. Took me quite some time to convince the tech support that there are only about 40 viruses/trojans threatening Mac users, and these are well known…

Anyway, it’s good to be connected again. Because I’m feeling lucky right now, I give you a preview of Boys Noize‘s latest track, Come With Me. This is only a set rip, taken from a set Alex played a few days ago.

Boys Noize – Come With Me (set rip)

Wondering how much Justice charged for their latest remix: Lenny Kravitz. This one came very surprising, no information has leaked before. It was announced on Lenny’s homepage a few hours ago, all of a sudden. Anyway, here it is… enjoy!

BRAND NEW:
Lenny Kravitz – Let Love Rule (Justice Remix)

Edit: You’ll never guess what Boys Noize just wrote: “50 CENT DID RAP OVER MY BEAT”

No Internet?!?

Sorry kiddos, don’t expect new posts that weekend. My internet provider has taken down my internet connection, due to ‘strange activity‘. I don’t know yet what this is really about, I hope I can sort this out until next week. Right now, I’m at school, using the library’s W-LAN. Stay tuned for further updates…

Kry-Lon, #2

Remember when I first featured 16-year old Mexican producers Kry-Lon back in ’08? Currently working on an EP featuring original tracks, they just hooked me up with a few new remixes. I really love their unique, fresh style when it comes to remixing: Adding heavy basslines, aggressive synths and kicking drums while preserving enough of the original track’s style. Make sure to check out these kiddos, kiddos! :)

L.A. Style – James Brown Is Dead (Kry-Lon Is Fucking Dead Remix)

S.P.A. – Pets Dance (Kry-Lon Remix)

Where’s Your Head At?

Fasten your seatbelts, kiddos, as this monster might blow you away: Basement Jaxx’s Where’s Your Head At, heavily smoked by Irish producer Mark Lam. Lots of massive tunes heading from Dublin (awesome BBS re-edit by Ghostscene DJs just a few days ago). Thanks a bunch for turning one of my favourite tracks into a bass-driven, roaring monster.
