What a coincidence: Just saw Andrew Butler from Hercules & Love Affair spinning in Vienna the other day, now I got tickets to give away for the Avalon, Hollywood: Andy will be DJing there on Friday, September 4. I have a pair of tickets to give away, just email me at discodemons@gmail.com to participate. Subject line: HOLLYWOOD.

Hiya kiddos, hope y’all had a nice weekend. Been partying with UK Drum & Bass DJ Bryan G on Thursday, recovering on Friday and dancing till sunrise on Saturday – thanks to Hercules & Love Affair and local heroes Bunny Lake. Here are three tunes that have been rocking my weekend:
High Contrast definitely left his unique remix fingerprints on Adele’s incredibly beautiful track Hometown Glory. Even if you’re not into Drum & Bass at all, this amazing remix has to be heard!
Adele – Hometown Glory (High Contrast Remix)
Andrew Butler from Hercules & Love Affair played a great set consisting of mainly retro disco tracks, quite entertaining. Here’s a song by his band, just to get an idea of the whole thing.
Hercules & Love Affair – Athene
Last but not least Austrian flagship electropoppers Bunny Lake, offering a lot more than a dead drunk singer: Here’s a massive remix by Austrian American Christopher Just. In case you’re wondering: Now you know where I stole my name from…
Bunny Lake – Disco Demons (Christopher Just Remix)
Bonus: My mobile phone ringtone I sometimes find myself dancing to when drunk enough. If I had to explain the meaning of the word “epic” to a non-English speaking person, I guess I’d just wait for someone to call me.
G. F. Händel – La Grande Sarabande

I proudly present another exclusive feature here on Disco Demons: Austrian wunderkind Dirty Disco Youth‘s remix of Standing On The Shore by Empire Of The Sun. Let me just quote the maestro himself: “Somehow acid, somehow 90ies but somehow typically Dirty Disco Youth”. Enjoy, kiddos!

Hiya kiddos, let me take you on a little excursion into the world of Drum & Bass. I was just searching hypem for some Sub Focus tracks when I realised that the last track submitted to hypem was posted on December 8, 2008 – by me.
Sub Focus recently gained wide exposure when his latest track Rock It (reference to Daft Punk’s Robot Rock?) entered the UK Top 40. Here’s a 128k version of Rock It, plus a banging bootleg remix of The Prodigy’s Smack My Bitch Up. Let me know what you think.

Back home. German Grave Robbers are quite fast, it seems: Just posted up their Amanda Blank remix a few days ago, now here’s the next one. Bulletproof by La Roux received their special remix treatment, including amazing retro synths, catchy basslines and massive build-ups and kick-ins for the crowd. Enjoy, kiddos!
La Roux – Bulletproof (GRVRBBRS Remix)

The reason why I haven’t been posting this earlier is that it was featured exclusively on Gotta Dance Dirty, so I didn’t want to rip off their content. John Roman has now been contacting his favorite blogs individually to hook them up with his new tracks, so here you are:
An amazing remix of Daft Punk’s Tron soundtrack theme plus a banging original track titled Martyr. If you haven’t heard of John Roman before (shame on you!) you should go check out his earlier work as well, including a remix of Felix Cartal’s Skeleton and a huge rework of The Bloody Beetroots’ Who’s Afraid Of Cornelius?.

Now that you know what you’re doing on Saturday, here’s my recommendation for Friday: A1 Bassline at Fluc, Vienna. Support by local heroes Pola-Riot. Be there!
