Let me make one thing clear: I have no information on this one, I don’t know anything that you you don’t know. Obviously it’s a new Bloody Beetroots track that has been ripped off a set and has found its way to the internet. To be honest, I think it sounds a lot better than most of the tracks on Romborama, it’s got more of their old, banging sound.
Hiya kiddos, hope y’all had a nice weekend. I was just skipping through random songs in my iTunes when I came across M.I.A. and Diplo’s collective mixtape Piracy Funds Terrorism. I’m not going to tell you how awesome M.I.A.’s voice is nor how much I adore Diplo’s genre-crossing production talent, I think you know for yourselves.
What I’m not going to do as well is to share the entire mixtape out of respect to these amazing artists, but I though I’d share three of my faves with you:
Parov Stelar is certainly one of Austria’s greatest artists of all time: A unique fusion of jazz and disco makes his trademark sound stand out against other contemporary music. On his eagerly awaited fourth album titled Coco he further develops his established jazzy sounds by experimenting with heavy synths and broken beats.
When asked how he came up with the album title, he answered: „Coco is a fictional person. She has accompanied me through my whole life. I can´t touch her or describe her with language. Sometimes she is a depression, sometimes an exaltation. Sometimes she´s just a shadow or surprises me with a great concert. We’ve known each other for more than 25 years now. “
Hiya kiddos, it’s almost 1 pm and I just got out of bed. The sun is shining and it seems as if it’s gonna be a beautiful day. What I need right now to get a clear head is distortion – huge amounts of dirty, filthy distortion. Nothing else matters.
Good news, kiddos: Posted up that mixtape from Dada Life’s Olle a few hours ago, now I just got a pair of tickets to a Dada Life show in Hollywood to give away to you. Dada Life and Felix Cartal will be spinning at the Avalon on Friday, Sept 25. The first person who emails me at discodemons@gmail.com , subject line HOLLYWOOD will get a pair of tickets. Hush hush, kiddos!
Step 1: Listen to Super Viral Brothers Mixtape Called the Swine Flu shot!
Step 2: Avoid Loud Places and get somewhere quiet so that You May Be Exposed to the lyrics of the Swine Flu shot!
Spread this mixtape rapidly to crowds of people if you have the proper sound system that will make a MF say what is that? . If you are concerned that someone may think your dissing RAINMAN where you live, avoid crowds of his fans whenever possible. Shopping online at iTunes will insure that you can buy Super Viral Brothers.
Travel will increase the odds that you’ll not hear or see anything like Super Viral Brothers.
If you are very concerned about exposure you may want to cover your eyes and put in some earplugs.
Step 3: Practice Good Listening Habits to Avoid the Short attention span disorder that’s affecting everyone these days.
Wash your hands frequently at least before you start surfing the net for the download, lathering well for 15 seconds.
Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if you are unable to wash your hands (you nasty person).
Don’t touch fast-forward just listen to the whole mix it’s not quite 30 minutes long.
Cover your ass and watch your mouth if you even think about dissing SVB.
Super Viral Brothers are: Olle Cornéer (Dada Life) + Anthony Mills (Ghettotrance)
As a music blogger, I get to check out lots of tracks every day. Most of them are quite good, some of them are very good, but only a few are excellent – these are the ones that make it on Disco Demons. When filtering out these tunes, I sometimes happen to stumble upon real masterpieces that stand out against all the other music I find in my inbox. They have something that I can’t describe but that makes them very special to me – and hopefully as well to you, kiddos:
The Very Best are an exceptional band with an exceptional story: Esau Mwamwaya, an African immigrant living in London, happened to work in the same street where Radioclit’s producers had their studio. They were in need of a percussionist for a new project, so when they happened to run into Esau, they invited him to their studio. He soon turned out to be the most talented songwriter they had ever worked with.
This story on its own would be reason enough to do a post about it, but it gets even better: Alan Wilkis, whom I had featured a few times on Disco Demons, delivers a fantastic remix of The Very Best’s track Warm Heart Of Africa, one of the most amazing remixes I’ve heard in quite a while, to be honest. This masterpiece is more than just a re-arrangement of audio tracks, it’s a real clash of cultures, a fusion of warm, pulsating African rhythms and vocals and 80s retro analogue synth sounds and drum samples. Totally overwhelmed by this, got it stuck on repeat. This remix should be made an official one and be pressed on the B-Side of the single. And now go show Alan some mySpace love, he really deserves it.
Attention, DJs and producers: Phoenix are giving away the multitracks to their song Fences for free. Grab ‘em here, chop ‘em up, re-construct, re-edit and re-mix as you like, then upload to discodemons@gmail.com , subject line FENCES. Best entries will be post on Disco Demons. Good luck, kiddos!
