Zombie Nation

I was just browsing through my iTunes library, looking for a decent remix of Zombie Nation’ Kernkraft 400 to play next weekend, when I came across a remix that I had no idea it even existed:

Where’s my MONKEY?

Just stumbled upon a video based on Caspa’s dubstep remix of TC’s Where’s My Money, re-worked by DJ Parker – just see for yourselves, it’s funny as hell.

Ticket Giveaway: Breakbot

I have to admit, I’m a bit jealous: Ed Banger Records’ latest signing Breakbot will be spinning at the Avalon in Hollywood this Friday, bringing along a whole load of French touch with him. It has become a nice tradition for me to give away a pair of tickets to the fabulous Control parties to my beloved readers, just email me at discodemons/at/gmail/dot/com, subject line HOLLYWOOD and if you’re lucky, I might pick you.

Dato

I love discovering new music from all over the world, it’s almost like travelling to other countries. Today I stumbled upon experimental electro-pop from Copenhagen, Denmark: Dato are two guys that have been cooperating for more than two years, “insisting on songs, shaped up in electronics“, as they describe themselves. Their latest track, featuring vocals from Danny Anderson, is an amazing disco-esque song you won’t get out of your head. Watch out for more music from these guys, they just finished mastering a whole album.

Trucker’s Delight

“Think Spielberg’s Duel + Russ Meyer’s Faster Pussycat Kill Kill! + Marc Dorcel’s wildest fantasies all warped into an 8-bit Sega era style graphic.” – This is how the attached press text drew my attention to Truckers Delight, the latest EP by Parisian producer Flairs. The official video that comes with it is the weirdest but funniest music video I’ve seen in quite some time. In fact, the video features cartoon imaginery some might find objectionable, if you think you may be offended, please switch off now (to quote Pete Tong). Third Side Records sent out an Alex Gopher remix of the single to give away, so here you are, kiddos:

Poison Lips

I love Vitalic. His latest album is one of the best out at the moment (even though I think OK Cowboy was even better than Flashmob). I love Vitalic being remixed by skilled and talented artists, just like Captain Flash. It takes a hell of a producer to remix Vitalic, I guess, as there’s not much space left for improvement. This is one of the best remixes I’ve ever heard – seriously.

Drop

I love tracks and remixes that keep building and rising for quite some time and then kick in with a totally unexpected sound, just like the Crookers’ Love To Edit. Larry Tee just sent over another perfect example: Harvard Bass drops the sickest staccato drums I’ve ever heard.
