Disco Demons Exclusive: A.G.Trio

I’m proud to announce the exclusive world premiere of the A.G.Trio‘s latest release on Etage Noir Special Recordings, which will be hitting all major online record stores, including iTunes, later today: Along with the EP, they decided to give away a free remix by German electro heavyweights Ultrnx.

Dancen EP by Austria’s current number one electro exports is every sane DJ’s wet dream, consisting of two tracks, an instrumental and said remix, a serious DJ weapon to watch out for. Kudos to Ultrnx for releasing this distorted, nasty bass monster from it’s cage. Grab it exclusively in it’s full 320kbps glory on Disco Demons:

Crookers x Steed Lord

Massive collaboration between Italian electro exports Crookers and US Icelandic outfit Steed Lord. Not quite what I expected, but I love these catchy vocals. Can’t wait for the weekend to drop this in the clubs and see people’s reaction.

Topman CTRL + Shirt Giveaway

Here’s an announcement on very short notice: I’ve already covered Topman CTRL on the blog last month, if you don’t know what this is about (shame on you!), look it up! This month’s controllers are the Filthy Dukes, who picked a bunch of artists for an event, including We Have Band, O. Children and the Filthy Dukes themselves.

Again, I’m giving away a super-limited T-Shirts, designed by no one less than the Dukes themselves. There are two ways to win the shirt: 1) Follow me on Twitter and tweet “Filthy Dukes T-Shirt giveaway on Disco Demons: http://tinyurl.com/filthydukes”. 2) Email me at discodemons at gmail.com and tell me why you think you deserve this shirt.

Back from México

Hey kiddos, I’m back from México. After an entire day in bed, I just spent hours reading almost 1000 emails (not joking), sorting out the best music I’ve received in more than two weeks. There were dozens of track I really enjoyed, but I cut the list down to some favourites:

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I stumbled upon a particular email: Being only two weeks away from my MacBook, guess what happens? Danger releases a new EP, giving away a full track in 320k quality to bloggers. I like the pan flutes.
Remember when I was joking about Daft Punk releasing an album while I’m away? Obviously, they haven’t, but I can offer a nice upbeat disco-esque remix of Technologic.
Next one in line is a massive remix of Missy Elliot’s Pass That Dutch by Figure, up and coming producer from Louisville, featuring a minute from the original track. Run for cover!
Huge and nasty tech-house banger, exactly what you’d expect when SonicC put their remix fingerprints all over Sharooz :
Slow, atmospherical track featuring an amazing female voice reminding me of Adam Freeland’s Supernatural Thing. Haven’t heard of Billie Ray Martin before (shame on me), but this track is already one of my favourites at the moment, give it a listen!
Weird but catchy remix of M.I.A.’s new song. Not sure what genre or niche to put that one in, somewhere between pop and dubstep I guess, but somehow it got stuck in my head after the first listen. Beware, it’s highly addicting.
I’m not a big fan of mash-ups in general, but some are just too funny to keep them for myself: Alphabeat + The Beastie Boys = Intergalactic Spell, one of the best (and funniest) mash-ups I’ve heard lately:
I love sweep synths. If you do too, you should download Cosmo Black’s bootleg remix of PNAU’s With You Forever, a soft and chilled trip to space.
Last but definitely not least: LAZRtag’s latest track, an evil DJ weapon for packed, sweaty dancefloors. You can still get some sleep tomorrow.

México

Hiya kiddos, I’m taking two weeks off for a short trip to Guadalajara, México. I also plan to visit Sayulita and Guanajuato, so hit me up if you’re somewhere near. I should be back in Austria on January 24, so don’t expect any new blog posts until then (only exception: Daft Punk releasing a new album, I would kill for internet connection in that case). Hope you’re all well, take care!

Bonkers

Remember when I told you to keep an eye on these two hairy Austrian dudes? I did not promise too much, The Integrals did it again: Lock up your daughters, cover your ears, here’s the heaviest remix of Dizzee’s Bonkers I’ve heard so far.

Dizzee Rascal & Armand van Helden – Bonkers (The Integrals Remix)

Radiohead – Street Spirit

Here’s a special treat for those of you who are into Radiohead: A neat and clean, chilled and somewhat housey remix of Street Spirit by UK-based producer The Dirty Funker. I’ve never been into Radiohead myself, but I have this remix stuck on repeat at the moment…

MGMT – Kids (Disco Demons Hypem Refix)

I just wrote an update on Twitter about how everything remotely related to Soulwax is overwhelmed with love on the Hype Machine, claiming that I could push sixty seconds of white noise into the Hypem charts by just adding “(Soulwax Remix)” to the track title. Nate from Chemical Jump came up with an even better idea: Here’s the Soulwax remix of MGMT’s Kids, reversed (playing backwars). I’m curious if this will get any attention on hypem, let’s just give it a listen – and a heart

Disclaimer: This is a joke.
