With regular apperances on both my blog and in my DJ sets, Chewy Chocolate Cookies don’t need to be introduced, I think. I’ve been smashing their Major Lazer remix in my sets for months, and now they finally treat us with a new tasty cookie: Their take on Teki Latex’s Dinosaurs With Guns is a massive, pumping DJ weapon to get the party started at peak time. Dropped it yesterday at Pratersauna, Vienna – crowd went mad.
This is a live recording of my set at Beatpatrol Festival 2010 in Austria, Europe on July 24, 2010. I was opening up on the Dim Mak Stage for Stereo Heroes, Dirty Disco Youth, Crookers, The Bloody Beetroots – Death Crew 77, Steve Aoki and my dearest friends The Shit Is Coming Home, Audiolook & Organgutan Klaus. Even listening to this set now makes my skin crawl, as it recalls the most epic moments of what has to be the biggest party I’ve ever DJ’ed. Thanks to my indispensable friends Klacid, Parkemed and ACC, I seem to have survived last week’s pneuomonia. Unfortunately, I had to cancel a gig last Friday, but as I’m almost back on track by now, I’m proud to announce that I’m opening up for Crookers, Bloody Beetroots and Steve Aoki on this year’s edition of legendary Austrian electronic dance music festival Beatpatrol – on Saturday, I’ll be DJing with my friends The Shit Is Coming Home on the Dim Mak Stage with names such as Stereoheroes, Dirty Disco Youth, Crookers, Bloody Beetroots and Dim Mak mastermind Steve Aoki. The rest of the line-up reads like a who’s who in the electronic music scene: Erol Alkan, Tiga, Benny Benassi, Wolfgang Gartner, Sound Of Stereo, Afrojack, Tocadisco and many more. Don’t panic, the following piece of music is about 40bpm faster than what you might’ve expected to find here. Still undecided about which one to love more, both the track and the video have completely turned my day from average into terrific (even after the tenth consecutive listen), conjuring a permanent smile up on my face (not joking here). Kudos to the UK’s very own DJ Fresh for delighting the world with a catchy summer tune to hum along with.
Now that the Spanish bulls have successfully butchered the Dutch team, and all the Vuvuzela pandemonium is slowly fading away, here’s a fresh selection of only the finest in electronic dance music to celebrate the Spanish victory (or to forget the Dutch defeat) – my all-time favorite Swedes Dada Life have put together an electrifying mix to exorcise the last Vuvuzelas out of your head.
