As promised, I’m interrupting my blog-related hibernation every now and then to drop a few tunes for you to dance to. Today’s pick is Canadian Disco Demons resident John Roman, blasting away your hangover with his latest track Karenina - a sick killer track for peak time DJ-sets.
John Roman – Karenina (Original Mix)
I gotta admit I’m quite proud to announce that Disco Demons is hosting an exclusive remix contest in cooperation with up and coming South African electro shooting star HAEZER: Having toured Europe and Australia with releases on labels such as Freakz Me Out and Crux, plus official remixes for the likes of The Toxic Avenger, this artist is certainly one of the hottest electro producers out there at the moment.
On that occasion, we’re giving producers from all over the world an exclusive chance to get their name out to an international audience by remixing Haezer’s latest track James Bond (which is also available as a free download on Disco Demons). Here are the details:
Good luck!
As some of you might have noticed, I’ve been a bit inactive over the past few days – which I’m honestly sorry for. Due to personal reasons, I might be sharing new music on the blog only sporadically over the next few weeks, as I need to sort out some things and re-focus a bit . I’m hoping to be back on track by mid-October, in the meantime you can check my Facebook page for (mainly DJ-related) updates.
However, I’m dropping something really big tomorrow – stay tuned!
I am the Pope Of Dope.

As I spent most of my weekend on the road, I was awaited by a huge stack of unread emails, with some sparkling gems hidden beneath. For starters, I highly recommend A Ghost O, a remix for up and coming Sicilian indie band Albanopower by no one less than Italian DJ/producer duo Blatta & Inesha (whom I already shared the stage with in Austria). The next course is a truly amazing accordion-driven house track: Div Kid remixing two big names, Riva Starr and Noze.
Albanopower – A Ghost O (Blatta & Inesha Remix)
Riva Starr feat. Noze – I Was Drunk (DivKid ‘Pissed Up’ Remix)
Next in line is a banging remix by German electro outfit Saint Pauli (on a sidenote, I was supporting these guys on one of my first ever DJ gigs, good memories) for their fellow compatriots ULTRNX. In case you’re still not dancing on your desk, Gain On Top delivers the final killer track that will ultimately make you bounce – a unique take on the Swedish House Mafia’s Leave The World Behind.
ULTRNX – Rockstr (Saint Pauli Remix)
Swedish House Mafia – Leave The World Behind (Gain On Top Remix)
Last but definitely not least is Africa’s hottest electro discovery Haezer, whom I’ll be supporting next month in Italy. He recently released a free track titled James Bond, a sick Soulwax-esque production showcasing his massive sound. Stay tuned, I’ve got an interview with him lined up quite soon!
If I’m right, this is the third Dada Life remix with 2 weeks. Kinda reminds me of the old days when big artists first start out. Sadly, when those artists become more well known they tend to want to change things up a bit. Dada Life is one of the few artists I really love because theydon’t try something new on each remix. They don’t go in different directions on their productions. They know what people love and they give it to them every single time.
Gravitonas – Religious (Dada Life Remix)
Specimen A give Foreigner’s 80s classic Cold As Ice a proper, nasty 2010 dubstep makeover. Beware, this one drops harder than the Titanic!
