Citizen Records: The Silures & John Lord Fonda

What better way to start a busy autumn (winter?) week than with good news from your favorite label? To be honest, writing posts related to Citizen Records is always a bit hard for me as I really need to suppress my enthusiasm a bit in order not to sound as if I was actually paid for what I write – but once again, the French label has given proof of its eclectic and cutting-edge taste in music with a handful of sublime releases coming up in the near future.

The Silures is an amazing ménage à trois composed of no one less than Vitalic himself, exiled American artist Mount Sims and Linda Lamb, who has already been collaborating with Vitalic in the past on tracks such as Bells and One Above One. Their debut release Roses is a melancholic and wistful three track masterpiece, deep and hasty at the same time. It’s out in two weeks from today, don’t sleep on this gem!

Released two weeks ago today, the first part of John Lord Fonda‘s What’s Going On? EP obviously aims at sweaty dance floors: melodic yet unstoppably forward-moving techno tracks – Citizen Records’s trademark sound at its best! Remix love comes from Worakls, a 22-years old French (what else?) whizz kid and Le Castle Vania, who turns The Sound Of A Melody into a full-on electro banger. The entire EP can be purchased over at Beatport and of course all other major online download stores.

With TWR72, Traumer and Commuter on the remix front for the second part of What’s Going On?, Citizen Records definitely have their finger on the pulse of time again, focusing on a fresh deep and demanding sound. It’s been out for just a few hours, grab it while it’s still hot!
