What would you do if you knew you had only one year left to live? You don’t even have to believe the hype about the end of the Maya calendar on December 21, 2012 – it’s an interesting thought experiment per se. Would you change your life, what would be the last song you’d listen to, who would be the last person you’d talk to? It doesn’t even have to be 2012, but as nothing is forever (except for Sean Connery’s diamonds, of course): how is the world going to end, and what would earth look like without humans?
Ende 2012, a new magazine (and probably the last one ever, too) is impressively dealing with these questions: quotes of famous last sentences, stunning computer art designing different concepts of a world without humans, scientific articles about the consequences of meteorite impacts, amazing photos from all around the globe and even a beautifully drawn “guide to the end of the world” (hello, Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy) – this magazine has it all. 2012 is a fresh mélange of science, art, history, metaphysics and (most importantly) comics – sometimes scientific, sometimes funny, always on point.
You can get a (German only) sneak preview of the first issue here. If you like what you see, you can order all 12 issues – and pay only if the world actually does not on December 21! Alternatively, you can buy the magazine wherever you can buy magazines. Happy last year everyone!
