It seems like the return ob my old heroes continues. The new Johannes Heil EP is awesome, Green Velvet seems to reach some kind of indian summer and Felix Da Housecat also releases a great new EP. But don´t worry, there is plenty of music by artists, who have not been around since your parents stopped raving, back in the nineties.
I myself was recently involved into some new A.G.Trio productions and remixes, first of which is a remix for The Sexinvaders and was recently released on Pink-Pong. We have been quite busy during the last weeks, so expect more to come soon.
The new Djedjotronic EP on Boysnoize Records is killing it with some old school electro attitude. The sound is definitely not unexpected, but positively consistent and without compromise.
The new Clouds EP is great and already on heavy rotation by many DJs. I favor the track “Local Bubble” as it is extremely groovy but still straight forward as usual.
Boddika and Joy Orbison team up again for another excellent track called “Mercy”, which is part of the “Think And Change” compilation on Nonplus – the label run by Boddika and Jon Convex.
“Bells Of Fierce” by Sharooz is part of the “Drum Kids EP” compilation on Animal Language. The involved artists got the directive to use only drum machines, beat generators, rhythm reactors and blunt instruments. Every one of the found his very own approach to it and the results are collected on this EP.
And the new release on Brodinski´s Bromance label, “Hyper Reality” by Panteros666, is once again great and shows his sense for creating a unique label sound with lots of different producers.
Aka Tell´s Hangover Sessions is a monthly DJ-podcast. For one hour Aka spins the tracks that he loved most, that influenced him or about that he really had to say some words during the last few weeks. Every episode is accompanied by an article on discodemons.net in which he is disclosing thoughts, stories and anecdotes about that mix, the last month and DJing in general.
Aka Tell is a member of the electro house act A.G.Trio. Together with Andy Korg he heads the austrian electro house label Etage Noir Special. He has been active as a DJ for more than 10 years. Aka Tell lives in Vienna, Austria.
