In August 2012, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver ran a remix contest for his self-titled album, making the stems to all songs on the album available to producers. The competition was quite a success, with 1617 entries in total and some artists handing in multiple submissions. The best ones were released on a dedicated remix album via the contest’s media partner Spotify.
Swedish producer Moon Regiment however really took this contest to the next level, remixing every single song on the album and creating his very own remix album: each song has been reassembled to form something completely new, ranging from atmospheric ambient sounds over experimental post-dubstep to jazzy lounge sounds. This is the perfect soundtrack for a lazy afternoon.
