The Indie-Dance Report #7

The Indie-Dance Report 7

Hey Champs! Here’s my July mix – I won’t loose many words about it, cause it’s like 40 degrees out there and nobody should sit in front of their computers now. You’ll find some pretty recent stuff in there, like a new Peter & The Magician track, an excellent colab between Alex Metric and Jacques Lu Cont and much, much more.

Put the mix on your iPod/phone/whatever and listen to it, while you enjoy the summer.

Gimme five!

► Sebastian Carter (Thurgau, Switzerland)

I don’t know very much about Sebastian, even though he’s from my neighbourhood – not literally, but this is Spart..ehm Switzerland, we all live very close to each other. However, Sebastian Carter is a young producer on the rise. Check him out.

► RAC (Portland, USA)

No need for an introduction here. RAC aka the Remix Artist Collective have remixed the whole indie music scene within the last two years. You can find over 150 (!) tracks on their SoundCloud. Almost all of them are good and most of them can be downloaded for free.

► Saint Pauli (Hamburg, Germany)

I played a few shows with Saint Pauli back in my banger days. They have changed their soundline since then and now they deliver fresh indie-dance with a poppy edge. Danceboy is an instant hit and catchy as fuck after the Saint Pauli treatment.

► Yaaman (Donetsk, Ukraine)

Yaaman’s work sounds pretty french for a guy from Eastern Europe, which – of course – isn’t a bad thing. His latest remix has a summer-feel-good flavour all over it, and I have no idea how I could loose the remix competition with this floorfilling bomb.

► Socery (Rennes, France)

Speaking of the french, say „hi“ to Sorcery. He has only 107 follower on soundcloud, but I’m sure this won’t stay like this for a long time. Download his latest remix for the Juveniles for free.

Bonus!

„I would totally LOVE to hear another Daft Punk remix!“, said no one ever, but anyhow: This rework of the french sea-disco duo Reflex (Andre Dalcan & Ludmilla Cassar) really got my attention. It’s not a simple bootleg – vocalist Lud sings along the verses, giving the song a dreamy note and taking it to a whole new level. The BPMs were tuned as well and Doin‘ It Right, my favourite track of the album, is finally ready for the dancefloor.
