Remember the Moullinex/Peaches rework of Maniac I posted the other day? You better do, as burn studios and Vice have teamed up to bring Moullinex into town on April 4th, along with Telonius, Da Chick and local heroes Moogle and Xander & Niederreiter. Harmer’s bar is where the fun’s at, drinks are on the house (yes, you read that right). So what’s the catch?
It’s an invitation-only party – there are no tickets to buy, just 200 slots on the guest list. How to get your name on that list? There are always ways, but the best idea comes from Sony: 4 lucky people (2 from Austria, 2 from Switzerland) get the chance to fly to Vienna, party with amazing people, stay at a hotel, fly back home. Sounds sweet, right?
As if that wasn’t enough, every winner gets a Sony Walkman Z in order to keep you entertained on your trip with not only music but also lots of cool features like videos, games and apps – check out the video below. Head over to Vice Austria for your chance to win – see you at the party!
Everybody loves free stuff, right? Once again, I have teamed up with Austrian Urban Art Forms festival to bring you a bag full of free goodies to win – and as generosity is a virtue, we’re giving away 5 of the fan packages as pictured below, each consisting of 2 DVDs with filmed footage of the best DJ sets and live performances from the past years and 3 CDs with only the finest tracks, hand-picked by the past years headliners:
[DVD] Rewired – with sets by Modeselektor, Mediengruppe Telekommander, Extrawelt, Thomas Schumacher
[DVD] Rewired 2.0 – featuring filmed sets and live acts of Chris Liebing, Gus Gus, Body & Soul
[CD] Ill.Skillz & Dub FX
[CD] Matrix + Futurebound
In order to get your hands on one of these packages, all you need to do is send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org – including your full postal address. Subject line: UAF. Any emails received before February 29 will enter the contest, winners will be notified within a week after the contest closes. Any recourse to courts of law is, as always, excluded.
There’s also going to be a big competition in a few weeks for two tickets to this year’s Urban Art Forms Festival, featuring Justice, Skrillex, Pendulum, Noisia, Fritz Kalkbrenner and many more. Watch out, don’t miss your chance to win two free tickets!
2011 is almost over and 2012 has come incredibly close. If you (like me) are always late for everything and only realize in late February that you might need a new calendar by now, here’s a special opportunity for you: Aka Tell has recently unveiled a super-exclusive calendar, based on the amazing cover photos of the past Hangover Sessions mixtapes. Only 100 calendars have been produced, money can’t buy these.
As not only the end of the year but also Christmas is not far away, I’ve got 5 of these limited calendars to give away. In order to get your hands on one of them, just post a comment on Facebook here and let me know which Hangover Sessions episode has been your favorite. All comments submitted before December 24 enter the contest; winners will be contacted on Facebook by Christmas – and (as always), any recourse to courts of law is excluded.
If you’re not sure which episode is the one for you (or you just happen to need hours of quality music to listen to), here are all episodes available for streaming and downloading. Good luck!
The Subways on Tuesday, Friska Viljor and Yuck on Thursday, Pantha du Prince on Friday. What reads like a who’s who in contemporary music is the line-up for a week of concerts at Posthof Linz – one of Austria’s most trending concert venues.
The reason why I’m telling you this is not only my own delight to see quality bookings in Austria happen outside Vienna but also the 3×2 tickets to the electronic finale on Saturday featuring Jerry Bouthier, Jeans Team, Shit Robot, Wolfram and Dorn that I’m giving away to 3 lucky people who can tell me where Jerry Bouthier was born. Send your answers to discodemons[at]gmail[dot]com – subject line: AHOI. Contest ends on Friday 8pm Austrian time, any recourse to courts of law is (as always) excluded. Good luck!
Good news for those of you who have not yet forgotten how to party: Techno-punk legends Atari Teenage Riot are playing in Linz, Austria on Thursday, supported by local rave heroes JM Kanes! Digital Hardcore is not only the name of ATR’s own label but also the name of the game when it comes to their furious live shows.
To make sure you’re not going to miss this illustrious party, I’ve got 3 x 2 tickets to give away! Just send me an email at discodemons[at]gmail[dot]com with ATARI in the subject line and your full name (for the guest list) in the email – contest ends on Wednesday 8pm, winners will be notified by email. Any recourse to courts of law is as always excluded. Good luck!
Good news: My favourite music label of all time is celebrating its 10th birthday! On that occasion, Citizen Records have put together a special compilation called 10 Years Of Experimentations, showcasing the best tracks and remixes by the label’s artists, including South Central, John Lord Fonda, Teenage Bad Girl, Fukkk Offf, Produkkt, Monosurround and of course the maestro (and founder) himself – Vitalic. The full compilation is available for streaming on SoundCloud and can be bought on iTunes for only 6,99€.
Due to massive celebrations, Citizen Records are feeling generous and have given me 2 exclusive metal box promo copies of the compilation to give away! If you want to get your hands on one of these super exclusive goodies (money can’t buy these!), all you need to do is send me an email to discodemons[at]gmail[dot]com and tell me why only you deserve that compilation. Please use the subject line CITIZEN to make sure your email won’t get lost in the floods. All emails received before Friday October 7, 2011 will enter the competition, any recourse to courts of law is of course excluded.
And for those who live in or around Paris, France (lucky bastards!) – La Machine du Moulin Rouge is the place to be on October 15: Citizen Records are celebrating their official birthday party there, with DJ-sets and live performances by the likes of Vitalic, Fukkk Offf, Teenage Bad Girl, John Lord Fonda and many more. Â (I would kill to be there, not joking…)
Once again Vienna’s musical landscape has become richer in variety: Waves Vienna is about to take place for the first time in and around the second district next week, establishing not only an incredibly versatile decentralised music festival but also an accompanying conference with panels hosted by both local and international industry professionals. Featuring a remarkable amount of bands from countries such as Slovakia, Latvia and the Czech Republic, the main focus clearly lies on integrating Eastern Europe’s musical world (which still treasures lots of undiscovered secrets) and connecting it tightly to its counterpart from Western Europe – also a key issue of the conference, having topics such as “Eastern European Markets†or “Music Export Structures†on its agenda.
On that occasion (and now it’s getting really interesting for you all) I’m giving away 5 x 2 weekend passes (Thursday – Saturday; worth 54€ each) for the festival! To get your hands on these tickets just send me an email at email@example.com (subject line: WAVES) before Monday September 26, 8pm CET – please make sure to include your full name for the guestlist. The winners will be notified by Tuesday afternoon, any recourse to courts of law is excluded. Good luck, see you there!
Once again, Friday has finally arrived, making up for an exhausting week that kept dragging along for too long now. I spontaneously decided to take a week off, so I’m saying goodbye to Austria after playing a final show on Saturday, and will be staying in Paris, France until Friday next week, then heading to Luzern, Switzerland to DJ a party at the Grand Casino there. I’m travelling via Munich, Germany, so if anyone wants to say hi or have a beer, just drop me a comment or send me an email.
As this means no new music until Sunday, August 15, I came up with an adequate compensation: I’m giving away loads of goodies, including T-shirts and vinyl records. More details on how to get your hands on these giveaways after the jump, just click “Continue Reading” below…
Got some exciting news to share with you all before starting my weekend by partying with SebastiAn from Ed Banger Records in Vienna tonight: I’m giving away a pair of weekend passes to the Urban Art Forms Festival 2010 in Wiesen, Austria, Europe’s leading audiovisual festival. This years (questionable, I admit) headliner is David Guetta, alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Boys Noize, Armand van Helden and Digitalism. The list of performing artists reads like a who’s who in electronic dance music: Adam Freeland, The Japanese Popstars, Buraka Som Sistema, Moonbootica, Parov Stelar, Infected Mushroom, Spor, Benga and many more.  To get your hands on the tickets to festival-heaven, simply email me at firstname.lastname@example.org (subject line: UAF) and tell me why I should ignore 10.000 other entries and give the tickets to you instead – the winner will be contacted on May 15. Good luck!

UK party people, listen up: I’ve managed to get my hands on a pair of tickets to this year’s legendary Isle of Wight Festival, giving one lucky winner (and a friend) the opportunity to attend one of the hottest festivals of the summer -Â for free. The list of performing artists reads like a who’s who of the international music scene, including world class acts by the likes of ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, The Strokes, Florence + The Machine, Blondie and Pink. The colossal line-up is completed by lots of big names such as Little Boots, Biffy Clyro, Marina and the Diamonds, La Roux, Orbital, James, Calvin Harris, Editors, Vampire Weekend and many more.
Now in the ninth year since its reincarnation, The Isle of Wight Festival is steeped in musical heritage and magical memories. The Festival is renowned for bringing in the biggest names as well as showcasing new and upcoming talent and this year will be no exception.
Here’s how you can enter the competition: To avoid legal complications, I need to know that you’d be able to brave the dangers of three days of festival madness in case you’ll be the lucky chosen one, so you have to take a picture of yourself and your festival survival kit and email it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org – best (or funniest) equipped person wins! Please put FESTIVAL in the subject line to help me sorting my emails. Oh, and no multiple entries (I promise, I will find out and make it rain on your tent). Good luck!
